Zoloft is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder (social phobia), and a severe form of premenstrual syndrome called premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Zoloft works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances in the brain known as neurotransmitters.
