Generic Name: Metolazone (me-TOLE-a-zone)
Zelnorm is a selective serotonin receptor agonist used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in women who have constipation as the main symptom.
NOTE: This medicine has not been shown to work in men with IBS symptoms.
Zelnorm works by increasing the movement of stools (bowel movement) through the bowels, decreases pain and discomfort in the abdominal area, bloating, and constipation.
