PRINZIDE: Pronounced PRINN-zide ZESTORETIC: Pronounced zest-or-ET-ik Generic Name: Lisinopril (lyse-IN-oh-pril) and Hydrochlorothiazide (hye-droe-klor-oh-THYE-a-zide)
Prinzide or Zestoretic are both a angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor and thiazide diuretic combination used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Prinzide or Zestoretic works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly. The Hydrochlorothiazide component of the medication is a water pill that causes the kidneys to get rid of unneeded water and salt from the body into the urine.
