Pravachol is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (also known as a "statin") used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your blood. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Pravachol works by helping to clear harmful low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and fats away from the walls of your arteries and by limiting the body's ability to form new LDL cholesterol.
