Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker used to control high blood pressure or angina (chest pain). Reducing high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
Norvasc works by relaxing your blood vessels so your heart does not have to pump as hard to pass blodd through it. It also increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart to control chest pain (angina).
