Generic name: Calcitonin Salmon (kal-si-TOE-nin sall-mon)
Miacalcin is a hormone nasal spray used to treat Osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) in women who have been in menopause for more than 5 years who do not want to use or cannot use estrogen products.
Miacalcin works by replacing low levels of the hormone Calcitonin into the blood stream by allowing the spray to be absorbed in nasal passages of the nostrils.
