Mevacor is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (also known as a "statin") used to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your blood. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Mevacor works to remove and reduce accumulations of cholesterol and fats along the walls of your arteries (a process known as atherosclerosis), allowing blood to flow more free and easily.
