Imitrex is a cerebral vasoconstrictor used to relieve the pain and pressures with a migraine headache attack as it occurs. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Imitrex works by increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain, a chemical which has known to reduce in amount during migraine attacks.
