Diovan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat congestive heart failure and other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Diovan works by blocking the action of certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly. In Diovan HCT, the thiazide diuretic component helps the body get rid of excess water.
