Avalide is an angiotensin II antagonist and thiazide diuretic combination used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
The Irbesartan component of Avalide works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, making blood flow more smoothly. The Hydrochlorothiazide component of the tablet works to rid excess water and salt from the body to pass into the urine.
