Generic Name: Donepezil HCL (doh-NEP-eh-zil HCL)
Aricept is a reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor used in the treatment of mild to moderate dementia in Alzheimer's patients. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Aricept works by stimulating the brain functions that increases a patient's ability to think and remember events. Aricept is not a cure for Alzheimer's Disease nor will prevent the condition from getting progressively worse.
