Adalat XL is a calcium channel blocker used to treat high blood pressure and also used to control angina (chest pains). This medicine may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Adalat XL works by relaxing your blood vessels so your heart does not have to pump as hard and increases the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart. Adalat XL can control chest pain, but it does not stop chest pain once it starts.
