Pronounced: AK-you-prill Generic Name: Quinapril (KWIN-a-pril)
Accupril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor used in the treatment of high blood pressure. It may
also be used to treat congestive heart disease and other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Accupril works to decreases certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels so that blood flows more smoothly
and the heart can pump more efficiently. Though Accupril controls high blood pressure and heart failure,
it does not cure these conditions. Accupril can be taken alone or in combination with a diuretic (water pill)
as prescribed by your doctor.
